- There are two different concepts involving money:
- Donation: is to give money without expecting nothing in return, just to be a good citizen, the project decides how to use those resources
- Sponsorship: there's a clear goal in mind when the money is given. It has a purpose and the sponsor expects something in return.
- @chuckboecking repeated the message during the conference of companies making a revenue from iDempiere donating the equivalent to 100 USD monthly to support the project
- On the other hand, many implementers have mentioned to me that we need a way to handle sponsorship via crowd-funding for developments that benefit everyone in the community
- We want to try and explore the idea of crowd funded developments. We discuss in a future meeting the guidelines and procedure.
- We discuss in another meeting how to communicate the donate message proposed by @chuckboecking.
